“ This place is one of those hidden gems I simultaneously want to tell everyone about and hope nobody else finds. The food is affordable, delicious, and customisable. I have never regretted eating here. I actually was so excited to eat, I forgot to take my pictures before stirring around the udon. We have a friend who lived in Japan for a couple years and said the udon here tastes exactly like the udon he had in Japan. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the kimuchi (I tried it today for the first time)—it's a bit too bitter. It can get a bit cramped and hard to find a seat during rush times, but people turn over quickly so it's never long until you're happily eating. We come here nearly every time we're in the CBD, it's that good. ”
“ Incredible find. Good quality, great portion size and very friendly staff, you wouldn't believe the cost has stayed so cheap. It's just noodles but it's half the price of other places. The ordering system isn't bad like some would suggest, you just say what you want and slide your tray along, picking extras on the way (which you will get, because they're good). Will be back. ”
“ We came here on a friend had recommendation. At first, we thought we’d have a long wait with the line out the door but it turns out they have a system. People wait in line until tables are freed up and then orders are taken and filled. It works surprisingly well and has a good flow. The flip side of this is that you should plan to be in-and-out, not sit and linger. I got the udon with bean curd and a side of kimchi (extra $) but then added on the free toppings (tempura flakes, green onions, pickled radish and ginger). We came here on a cold day so the this dish was the perfect comfort food to feel cozy and warmed from the inside out! The broth was so delicious, the noodles had a perfect chewy texture but taking a slurp of everything together was heavenly! ”
“ This place is always packed because of how good and cheap the food is. Service is really fast. The udon is fresh and the broth is delicious. You can also get add ons like chicken karaage and all sorts of other fried stuff. The curry udon is also pretty good. It feels like you're tranported back to Japan. The seating is pretty tight and can be a little dirty. But that's ok as long as the food is good. You eat it quick and get out quick so don't be daunted by the long lines. ”
